INTUIT ONLINE PAYROLL SERVICES
Intuit Online Payroll is an easy online service that allows you to create paychecks in just a few minutes. There is no software to install.
Each payday, you enter the hours for each employee along with commissions, tips, reimbursements, or other adjustments. For salaried employees, make any adjustments or just click to approve.
We do all the paycheck calculations instantly. You click to pay employees by direct deposit, or print checks from our website on your own printer.
All your payroll data is stored in our secure database.
With Intuit Online Payroll Enhanced, tax payments and filings are fast and easy. We do all the calculations and create all the forms and payments. You control when they go out. For federal payroll taxes, you can just click to pay and file electronically.*
For most state payroll taxes, you can click to pay and file, too. In some states, you print our completed form and mail it.
In a few states, the government requires you to submit an original state-printed form or coupon. For these, we create an identical worksheet which you copy to the official form and mail — this usually takes just a minute or two.
For small businesses, you can choose from 2 different services that create instant paychecks and stubs.
Intuit Online Payroll Enhanced, our most popular service, includes everything you need to run payroll, from paying employees and contractors to paying and filing federal and state payroll taxes. We offer an attractively priced professional service for accountants and bookkeepers that includes all the capabilities from our popular Enhanced service, with additional tools that allow you to manage payrolls for many different small companies. You must be an accountant or an independent bookkeeper to qualify for this service.
Our household service is designed for families paying household employees such as nannies and caregivers. You just enter hours online, and we calculate the paycheck amounts. You can pay by direct deposit, print paychecks directly from our website, or hand write checks using our net paycheck figures. You can print pay stubs on plain paper.
We calculate payroll taxes owed by you as an employer, and complete the forms you need to file and pay your payroll taxes.

You have 3 choices for paying employees with Intuit Online Payroll:
- Direct deposit to their accounts
- Print checks on check stock with your own printer
- Hand write checks using our net pay figures; print stubs on plain paper
Direct deposit allows you to transfer funds electronically from your U.S. bank account to your employees’ accounts.
There is a 2-day lead time for direct deposit. For example, approve direct deposits on Wednesday by 5pm(PT) to guarantee they will arrive in your employees’ accounts on Friday 5pm(PT).
To set up direct deposit, you submit an authorization form and routing/bank account numbers for your bank account and each employee who wants direct deposit. Initial confirmation usually takes 2-3 ½ weeks. After that, you can do 2-day direct deposit.
Once you enter hours and approve payments, we instantly create paychecks and provide PDF files of the checks. You can then print the checks on your own printer, using check stock (sold separately). Order payroll voucher checks online, or call 1-800-433-8810.
Yes. Many businesses with just 1-2 employees choose this alternative. Use our net paycheck figures for the paycheck amounts. You can print a full pay stub on plain white paper.
PAYING AND FILING TAXES
We make it easy and fast to pay your payroll taxes. We do all the calculations for you. We send you an email reminder whenever payroll taxes are due.
For federal taxes, you can just click to pay taxes electronically, or print a coupon and take a check to your bank. For most states, you can just click to pay taxes electronically; for the rest, you can print a coupon and mail a check.*
Filing tax forms is easy. We do all the calculations and complete all the forms for you. You can file most of them electronically.* We send you an email reminder whenever payroll tax filings are due.
For federal taxes, you can just click a button to file all the forms. For most states, you can click to file the forms electronically; for some, you print out the completed form, sign and mail them. In a few states where the agency requires you to submit their original printed form, we produce a worksheet with all the numbers you need.
Yes, Intuit Online Payroll Enhanced provides paycheck calculations, tax payments, and form filings in all the states in which you do business or have employees.
Just sign up online and we'll guide you through the setup process, which takes about an hour for most small companies.
You enter company and employee information during this setup process. You can add additional employees or change rates of pay at any time, and the changes will be effective immediately.
During setup you will print our electronic services form, sign it, and fax it to us. This gives us your authorization to link your U.S. bank account to pay your employees and/or federal and state tax agencies. It usually takes about 2 ½ weeks to get all the necessary confirmations from federal and state tax agencies. In the meantime, you can begin payroll immediately, and pay your employees by check today.
Today. You can pay employees by check today, as soon as you complete your account setup.
One month at a time. You may cancel at any time.
You can pay by credit card or by electronic debit from your U.S. bank account.
You can cancel by signing in to your account and selecting “Cancel Service”. You can also call toll-free and cancel at any time.
After each payroll, you can export your payroll data with a few clicks to some of the leading small business accounting software. Exporting is optional, and is not required to make full use of the Intuit Online Payroll service.
